Hi, I have taken down the old light fitting in the lounge(cause i didnt like it not cause it was old!), the wires connected to this were three in total, all black, two in one choc block one on its own, there is red wires but they are taped up and were not connected to the light i removed, how do I connect to the new pendent, oh yeah and as i couldnt fit the new light as yet, I have taped (seperately) the wires at the end for now!! only thing is got no lights working in the dining room and kitchen and wall

Assuming the "pendant" is a standard ceiling rose then the red wires go into the 3 terminals marked "LOOP"

the 2 blacks that were together go into 2 of the 3 terminals marked "N" with the blue from the pendant in the third..

the black that was on it's own should have some red sleeving ( or tape at a push.. ) on it and goes in one of the 2 terminals marked as "L" or "SW" with the brown from the pendant into the other terminal..

the earths should be sleeved with green and yellow sleeving ( no tape this time.. ) and go into the large brass terminal on it's own..
