tile adhesive thicknesss

anybody tell me what the average thickness tile adhesive will be after tiles are fixed.
i am trying to work out the amount the shower pipework needs to protrude through. i am fitting a triton umbra shower and using the offset connectors when these are connected onto the mixer valve the chrome covers which hide the pipework have to be screwed on to the connectors all the way otherwise the connection nut does not have enough room to make a water tight connection. so leaving no room for adjustment. so i need to set the pipework up right as once it is fitted i cannot access it. can anyone help
tiles are 7mm thick

you say the tiles are 7mm thick...ok

but what size...width and lenght are they?..this depends on what size of comb you will use..from 5/6mm -10-20mm etc...
