I am not a tiler and have used a cheap electric tile cutter before.

I am looking at these two tile cutters foor when I tile my kitchen floor next week.

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=A235353&ts=77763&id=19139 or http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=A235353&ts=79227&id=64932

I am not sure about the first one, or I dont know if I should get a good electric one, but I will really use it that much after I have tile the kitchen floor and walls.

you opinions please

Hi, I'm not a tiler, either, but I've tiled quite a few kitchen and bathroom floors and I would never go back to using a straight tile-cutter after using my latest gadget, which is a Plasplugs electric model. It cuts tiles up to 12 mm thick so it may be a bit beefier than the one you used in the past. It also (almost) eliminates breakages. If you're using nice tiles, you may find you recoup the cost just by being able to use the same tile twice. You can cut neat slices in a way that would difficult with an ordinary cutter. Also, if you don't have something that will cut a neat curve, you have to rely on nibbling and that never gives a really neat finish. Will you ever use it again? Yes, because tiling will become such a pleasure you'll want to. Just my two-pence worth.
