Hi all,

Apologies for using the incorrect terminology, would be great if someone could tell me what the correct words are for this.

I've got a tile roof, (see pictures attached) and there is a large gap where the side panel meets another angle part of the roof.
In the first image 'good side', this shows the other side panel on the roof which looks all good, hardly any gaps there looks fine to me.

All of the other images are from the side panel with issue. As you can see I can look directly down through a gap into my roof space. I understand that tile rooves often have small gaps and thats normal, but these seem way too large and I can see where the wood inside my roof has gotten wet over the years. (see inside view pics) the inner protective foil has also weathered and fallen down in this spot inside my roof, hence why I can see the large holes in the roof from the inside, so I'll also probably have to fix that after dealing with the gaps.

I'm wondering what the best way to fix this is. I've had a search online and a friend suggested I just silicon it up but that seems like a bad idea given how large the gap is and I've read thats a bad idea in general. I've thought about riveting a metal flap to cover the hole on both side of the roof cap tile, is that a better idea?

Any guidance on how to fix this gap would be great.

Well, the tiles are not sat on the batons correctly, because the lug on one side is sitting partially on the aluminium trim, making the gap much larger. The tiles need lifting and trimming, then at the same time, you could cement the gaps or use flexim pointing putty.
