I've got an open plan kitchen/dining room. I'll have carpet running from the lounge through to the dining room, then tiles in the kitchen. The opening is about 3.1m wide.

What are my best options for the transition from carpet to tiles? I've seen something called z-bars or something, but I can't seem to find it a length suitable. Are there any other options? The only problem I forsee is where the transition starts it's literally up against the edge of the kitchen wall so I can't have anything to thick or it will stick out and look terrible.
