Tiles falling off kitchen wall. What can I cover the wall with?

Some tiles are very loose and we have pulled them off the wall with ease. The plan is to move the kitchen to a different room next year and this room will be completely renovated.

The area circled blue is wood.

What can we use to easily cover this area until next year?
