Tiles on to a concrete floor with a possibly bitumen coating

Hello, I plan to tile our hall floor but the concrete floor has thick black coating on top (bitumen, screed?) It's a 1960's property and all the floors have this.

Do I simply add adhesive and tile or would this floor require something else before this?

Make sure it's mostly level.

Prime it.

Then tile it


Any unevenness should be taken out by the tile adhesive and levelling of said tile

Thank you, any particular primer for this surface or woukd any tile primer be suffice?
