I have a concrete floor with a bitumen coating. I've read that Bitumen isn't a good surface for adhesives to adhere to. Is this true, or can I use regular tile adhesives?

Any advice welcomed.

Never had any trouble using decent powdered floor tile adhesive. But, if you're worried, use an adhesive recommended for porcelain tiles - it's better suited to less porous surfaces.
Make sure the floor is very clean though - sweep, then mop twice, allow to dry then tile.
