Hi All,

I'm new here and I hope I'm posting in the right place, we have just had a dining room and kitchen merged into a new kitchen, and we have just fitted a new kitchen, only to come to the realisation that the space in the chimney earmarked for the range cooker (with ceramic electric hob), is only 910mm (and the cooker is 900mm). While this would fit we had failed to account for a need to tile below the cooker line.

Does anyone know whether we need to tile below the top of the cooker, or if it would be fine just to stop at the top of the cooker?

If we need to go below the cooker line, does anyone know of a suitably thin tile substitute, the walls are pretty uneven inside the chimney (about 6-7mm between top and bottom on either side)?

Thanks for any advice anyone is able to give,
Andy
