I've never tiled. Range cooker was supposed to be installed but they could not as no splashback (which is ordered with the same people, and delayed!).

So I can get my cooker installed asap, I was thinking stick on tiles. The splash back is 65cm tall, the gap between cooker and hood is 75cm, so I will need a strip about 10cm tall. Was thinking of going all the way along the top of counter with it so looks neat, with splashback sitting on top of it.

Or, maybe just cover the splashback area with stick on tiles and cancel the splashback order (which is a glass splashback about £170).

Suggestions?

Got the refund from ao. Off to Maldon tomorrow to order a nice red glass splashback.
