Hello,
I have recently opened up a fireplace and plan to have a fire basket burning logs in the open brick surround. Instead of the existing bricks that are exposed, which are in poor condition, I would like to tile the apeture to make it more asthetically pleasing. I have seen a fireplace done in what seems like Terracotta brick size tiles. What sort of tile would be this be? Or what tile would be suitable for this? They would not be in direct contact with the fire but would obviously get hot.

Thanks in advance

i think they have to be at least 12mm thick if they are to be used round a fireplace/hearth
