Will shortly be re-doing the bathroom and intend to tile all the walls. The walls are sound, they have a couple of coats of emulsion. Is it OK to tile over paint?
realistically no, but you can do a tape test, stick tape to parts of the wall, make sure it is stuck down securely, then pull it off, if no paint comes off with the tape, use a primer on the wall then tile it. If paint comes off take it all off, if you cant be bothered to take it all off, scrape all the loose paint off as best you can, prime it then tile it. Hope this helps you mate
