Tiling and waterproofing

Hello

I am just about to embark on tiling my bathroom. Around the shower area, Is it advisable to use a Waterproofing shower kit before tiling.

I am just tiling onto the plaster that is already there, and I am using a Waterproof tiling adhesive as well.

Would the Waterproofing kit be overkill?

Suggest you read the tiling sticky and do a search on here before you do anything, there are many things to consider such as tile size, weight, adhesive, and the background you are tiling on please do this or you could be making a costly mistake.
