Havwe stripped off tiles in shower room as the waterwas penetrating and causing a real mess.

The wall about 1m up from floor level are sodden. The walls just have bonding on them, no finishing plaster. Is this going to be a problem when re-tiling or would the walls need to be finished properly?

Advice needed please.

Yes. I am just doing a job for someone with the same issue. Area of plaster from floor to about 1m above bath sodden. The customer has big tiles and need a good base to fix.

Even when the wet/damp plaster dries it will not be as solid as before. Suggest- hack off all wet/damp plaster or areas that sound hollow back to brick/stone/cement scratch coat. Leave exposed area to dry for a few days. Replaster level with other areas if whole wall not plastered.
