I have recently replaced my kitchen floor with 18mm chipboard as it was ruined by a water leak from the previous owners.

I have laid the floor to match up with the rest of the floor and it is perfect.

I want to tile my kitchen floor, firstly to make it water tight in case of a washing machine leak.

can i tile just over the floor or do i have to seal the floor with glue, or lay ply wood?

Any assistance would be grateful?
