Tiling on Dry lining

is it green plasterboard ? witch is needed in a bathroom tile straight on it unless shower area witch will need tanking !
When you say “remove the painted paper” do you mean wall paper that has been put over the plasterboard & then painted or has the plasterboard lining been painted directly over? Has the plasterboard been plaster skimmed?
You can tile directly onto plasterboard either plastered or unplastered with the right preparation but you can’t tile over wall paper. Do not attempt to remove the plasterboard lining paper, it will collapse in a heap on the floor.
As stated you must tank wet areas if you want it to last, what type & size tiles are you thinking of? I would advise a little more research before going any further, read the Tiling Sticky & Tiling Forum archive posts, lots of info in there that may prevent you making disastrous & potentially expensive mistakes.
