I am tiling a wall using mosaic tiles (the ones held together by a nylon sheet) as a border. The wall tiles are 4mm thicker than the mosaics. I was thinking of sticking the wall tiles onto 4mm plywood to make up the gap.

I was thinking of fixing the plywood to the wall using contact adhesive.

Is this a sensible thing to do?

Any advice welcome

There is a risk of moisture affecting the ply. Wedi board is available in 4mm thickness just fix with tile adhesive.
