Hi, I would like to tile over my kitchen floor. This is a 1935 suspended floor with tonque and groove floor boards. I would be interested to know what i would have to do in preperation and what products i should use.

It's always best to remove the flooring and replace with exterior plywood(WPB) with plenty of screws as it will keep the same floor level & check for the wood condition, pipe/cable underneath while you're at it

Most rotted area is under the sleeper wallplate, poke a small screwdriver to check

Just so there's no confusion, it's WBP. For those that don't know, this stands for Water and Boil Proof or is sometimes referred to as Weather and Boil Proof.

overlay current floor with 12mm exterior ply and screw down every 300mm with 25mm screws (turbo gold screws from screwfix best) as that length screw will not puncture any pipes under floor boards and make sure floor boards are sucure before plying
prime ply with an acrilic primer (bal apd)
you will need a multiflex cement based adhesive to aply tiles
