I would like to tile over this wet room floor. There is a wet room type waste in the middle of the recessed floor for the shower.

It's the hospital lino type flooring.

Could I tile directly over?

Any help would be very much appreciated

Thanks

Yes, you can tile over that floor covering.
But there are considerations:

1. The floor FFL will be raised.
2. best practice is to tile under fixtures eg a WC but its not necessary.
3. the door threshold will be raised.
4. perhaps the floor drain will need adjusting?
5. falls (slopes) from all sides will have to discharge into the drain.
6. the cove former under the present flooring will have to be cut out to enable you to tile to the walls.
And, possibly, the upstand?
7. wall tile will have to come down to meet the floor tile.
