So I've had this conversation with different people giving different answers and thought I would see what the general consensus is here... Do you tile straight on to whatever you are tiling so plasterboard/OSB/concrete wall/floor or do you apply some kind of barrier such as a backerboard or ply?

The reason I ask is and I've seen it, if you ever decide to redecorate and I appreciate you don't decorate to think about future decorating you aren't pulling all the plasterboard off or cement off the floor from the adhesive.

Any thoughts or am I over thinking it?
