My brother has managed to break the glazing pane in the UPVC tilt and turn window in his spare room/study.
When trying to figure out what happened i realised that when you open the window in tilt mode, it only opens a small amount, maybe 2 inches, before something in the top right corner seems to stop it opening any further. Turn mode appears to work normally.
My brother was ignoring this, and simply yanking the opposite corner futher open and then wedging something in the frame when he wanted ventillation, which is how the glass has eventually broken!
We're going to order a new double glazed unit for it, but i'd like to fix whatever is stopping it opening properly. I've had a look and cant really see anything, the mechanism is very hard to visualise. Hopefully its a relatively common issue and someone can tell me what needs adjusted?
