I have always wondered how a time delay RCD works. I know it is for purposes of discrimination but how is it time delayed and is the internal circuitry different from a normal RCD?

Comments please

The time dealy is done with a 'monostable'. The current transfomre drives a transistor that triggers the monostable, and once the capacitor has discharged enough, then and only then the contactor coil is pulled in..
Shorter delays might be an R_C time constant only, but I've never seen that.
