I know the answer might be "how long is a piece of string", but my existing CH pump (Grundfos Selectric Mk II UPS 14-50x18) is now 28 years old.

Is it time to replace to be on the safe side? Or go for IIABDFI (if it ain't broke don't fix it)?

Also, would the currently available UPS2 15-50/60 Pump Head fit my older base? Although at 28 years, again should the whole thing be replaced (whenever the job is done)?

If it's not broke... It might last another 28 years

Why bother changing it if it works and you have no problems. There's nothing to gain and every possibility that by doing the work you end up creating some new problem, especially if you pipework is equally old.
