timing belt warning light.

How do i turn off the timing belt warning light.ive had the belt changed befor the 120,000 mile time limit was reached. now that mileage has passed the warning light has come on.the vehicle is a Toyota hiace van,diesel 2.5 n reg. ive been told it has to be linked up to a diagnostic computer,and also been told you have to take the dash out to do it, any help please...

try reseting the ECU

disconnect battery, remove ECU fuse.

Different methods are used for this,depending on model ect.

have you got all the details,type, eng.code,(is it a Hi-lux) ?

Small hole in perspex covering speedo, put probe through hole ( with ign. on) light will go off.
