Hi all
So I’ve stripped some lining paper and the plaster underneath is actually quite flat but has lots of tiny cracks everywhere.
It’s an old rental that I’m selling so would rather not get it plastered.
Is there any other way round this?
Too many too open up and fill

Skimming the walls - if the underlying plaster is sound - will improve the appearance of the house, and may add value

Spider web cracks.

I used rolls of plastering mesh in the multi finish skim to cover.

Other way is wallrock paper over

Yes I know this may be the case, but I’m not looking to have it plastered if I can avoid it.
Is there not a roll on base coat that will bond and hide the cracks?

Wayners suggested wallrock paper to you.

I don’t want to paper it. It will cost me me just as much to get someone in to paper it as it will plaster it.
I’m asking if there is some kind of paint on solution I can do myself

There are crack filling paints you roll on but they are thick and not nice. The marketing for it was good. I used to brush in cracked artex ceiling and work it in well. Lasted about 6+ months.

If you rolled some of that on one wall first to see what it like then sell the place quickly then maybe that's a way forward.
There are no shortcuts in decorating....

Filling is not really possible as there is nothing to fill plus when you sand you take off the filler and your back to where you started.
Wall smoother would cost a bit and it's alot of work

Possibly, a decent mist coat and multiple top coats may work, it’s trial and error if you don’t skim
