I don't know ban... theres some things that electricians sometimes do that arnt ideal, but are safe enough when carried out by a skilled individual who knows exactly where risks could appear from, but if you start passing them around on a public forum, a DIYer could pick them up without thinking of the risks.

One that does crop up a lot of the time is dropping breakers into a live board, electricians do it all the time, but I certainly wouldn't want a DIYer to get the idea that its ok to do with their cheapo 50p wilko screwdriver...

and there is no doubt some stuff which some of you think shouldn't be on a open access public forum.

Whaddya think?
I think that people who think like that should re-train as plumbers.
It would be the next logical step after reaching the top of the electrical engineering profession. Ie - to train for something more intellectually challenging ;)

was this perhaps split off another topic? seems kind of a random dig at BAS otherwise

The thread was about electricians having their own "combustion chamber". Once I realised this had been discussed, I asked the mods to lock and delete this one. They appear to have partially deleted some of the posts. Wasn't a random dig at BAS any more than BAS was having an unprovoked dig at plumbers ;)
