Hi,
The toilet cistern in our downstairs toilet and the cold water tap in the same room have stopped working. The upstairs toilet and all other cold taps are working fine.

It's very cold outside today so I was wondering if this sounds liker a frozen pipe?

The house has a combi boiler and, like I said, everything else is working fine, including the central heating. It's just that one room.

Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

It sure sounds like it...get some heat into that wee room, and cover up any air brick that is just outside temporarily. Leave the cold tap open...but the plug out
John :)

...but turn on the bath taps to full and leave the plug in. Then nip out for a few hours to play in the snow

Ok, thanks John. That's what I assumed but thought I'd might as well check.

Someone has told me to find the offending pipe and heat it up with a hairdryer. Does that sound like a good idea?!? I could really do without a burst pipe!

Would be worth the effort if possible
