I fitted a push button toilet cistern and after a few months the water stop refilling in the cistern. I open the top of the cistern to find that the plastic (valve) had not drop to let the water flow back into the cistern. It is now happen on a regular basis. Any advice to what I can do to stop this from continuously happening.

Change the valve. 
Shouldn't think they will cost too much.

slacken the nut at the bottom of the valve and turn it slightly its probably fouling the syphon
