I replaced a torn rubber part on the water inlet in the cistern as thought that this was the reason that the cistern was very slow to fill. This was what the Handycraft man said on his video! was wrong. His top button flush toilet was exactly the same as mine. The problem now is that the cistern constantly fills up with water running into the bowl. I seem to have made things worse and have turned water off as noise is very annoying. I would be grateful if someone could help me please.
Thanks.

So you have gone from a toilet that filled slowly ,to one that now will not stop filling ,after whatever you tried to repair . Your best bet would be to fit a new float valve completely.

Thought it might. Nightmare to get it aligned as cant see what you are doing. Might have to get new float valve. Terrible design. Thanks anyway.

Yes terryplumb that is right. The SIAMM was what I replaced but dont think I have it aligned properly and that seems impossible to do. Thanks
