The dual flush button on our toilet cistern doesn't return fully up now, not sure why.

If you hold the button down, it still flushes. Just doesn't pop back up flush like it used to. Seemed to coincide with when we started using the toilet blu things in the cistern. Not sure what effect that might have had though.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Those toilet blue are a pain if you need to work on toilet. Plumbers will cuss ..
Don't use. Get the ones that hang over bowl rim...

As for toilet, Buy new Syphon and fit. Just not worth messing with

No, don't get those either. Just clean the toilet regularly like a normal person

Show us a picture of the underside of the button. Mine too has recently started doing this as a result of a spring rusting away and no longer providing the return assistance it once did. Toilet still flushed and I have much bigger stuff on my todo list so it's going to be a few years before I get round to doing anything about it, if nothing changes

The toilet shown does not have a syphon flush system - it has the more modern bottom flush valve that is opened when you press the button. So don't buy a new syphon - it won't fit!

Yeah, there's no spring in the button itself.

Once the current blu block has melted away, I'll unscrew the main tube mechanism thing and see if it's got a load of blue gunk causing it not to fully return back up

I found a manual online for a Siamp Skipper Compact which looks pretty much the same.

Going to check everything is correct

Edit, so I think I fixed it. There is a grey tubular plastic thing that I rotated anticlockwise which seemed to bring it higher and tighter.

Although I may have introduced another problem when I was fiddling around in the cistern. Now there is a puddle under one of the cistern wingnut bolts!
