toilet rusty bolt

I have found there is some yellow stuff at one of the wing nut bolts fixing the toilet cistern to the toilet base (as in the photo). The toilet is a push button type. Currently there is no leak and the bolt below seems good. I just wonder whether the yellow bit indicated the bolt (inside the cistern) is rusting and at some point there will be a leak? Any advice is much appreciated.

Doesn't look bad I would leave well alone just check from time to time.
It may just be splashes of wee / water creeping between the pan and cistern, tightening the nut is unlikely to help at all.

You have a small leak from the cistern to the toilet, you may need to replace with these:

or/and you may need a new doughnut washer.

Thanks. @andy, here is the picture. How do I replace it? Just remove the wingnut and the whole thing will come out? The toolstation product you quoted does not look like the same as mine...

Ok, Don't touch it, you could buy all the parts and have them ready or if it is leaking now then call a plumber to replace the parts.

A simple fix (bodge) would be to bail out the cistern and mop dry then put a generous splodge of Fernox LSX leak sealer over and around the bolt head, if you are worried. Or as said a plumber would have no trouble fitting the bits and a new doughnut washer.
