Leaking toilet

So, as two of us have asked; is it leaking constantly, or just when you flush it? Also, did you test the assembled cistern alone for soundness before fitting it to the pan?

More to the point, is this a real problem, or is someone just winding us all up?

Regards, Graham

Sorry GRC seems that despite following this post through 4 pages we've been washing our time.

Obviously only real plumbers are privy to the secret of curing a leak on a CC WC, us plebs will just have to carry on making up excuses for our unfortunate customers.

For what its worth
I've found that if the cistern does not sit close to level and upright above the pan the seal at the syphon-cistern or doughnut-pan can fail when the nuts are tightned.

I've found that if the problem occurs when the toilet is flushed, its due to back pressure forcing water up and arround the doughnut, always solved with plumbers mate.
