Hi there,

I am looking to remove for toilet so I can re-tile my bathroom. However, I am concerned that once I go to install the toilet, the level/position won’t be the same and not match the existing water supply pipe. Unfortunately, there isn’t a flexi hose and I’m not sure there is room to fit one within the space (..?).

I have no plumbing experience - can someone explain the components involved in this installation so I can understand what is involved in the remedial work to make it fit?

How much play does this current setup have?

It has an isolation valve but I’m confused with what connects above that valve to the toilet. See attached photo.

Many Thanks

Best way for you, as you have no experience is:

  • Turn off on isolation valve
  • Undo the top chrome nut on isolation valve
  • Undo all other screws connecting toilet to wall and floor
  • Remove toilet
  • Fit in reverse
The connecting piece looks like a female connection, and would need a fibre washer in between, and it could be a plastic inlet valve, and a risk of cross threading.
