can you isolate the water to the toilet ?

sounds like the fill valve is not shutting off.
have you one of these on the toilet inlet.

i have small water rings on ceiling, no water gone in for an hour, so if i turn the screw will this stop problem until i can get it fixed

im a woman with no plumbing experience, but good at diy can i fix this myself, is it a straight forward job

For convenience ( ) you can fill up your loo cistern using the isolator valve, and then turn it back off again once it has refilled.....if you want to replace the fill valve, Torbecks adjustable is the one to go for - Toolstation part number 32033. As an alternative, the existing valve may just need a new washer.
