I have just come across the 'Tony tray' as a means of making a building airtight between floors. Has anyone used this?

Rubbish! a house needs to breath.
We are currently using build-in joist hangers.
As this system of fitting joists does not allow the joist to sit on the wall thus preventing any penetration into the cavity, it alleviates the need for sleeves or 'Tony trays'.
I have never been totally comfortable with this method even though i have used it in my own home.
But we all know what building control are like...

The membrane is 'breathable' but prevents drafts.
I think it is more to do with 'air leakage' rather than 'draught' (not draft )

Just asked local Building Control and they seem quite happy with it at the moment.But we all know what building control are like...
"I see no problem using this method provided that for the ground floor the usual dpc is installed under the joists."
That's OK as I will have a solid ground floor. I'd only use Tony trays on the first and second floors.
I think spelling it 'draught' is a waste of letters.
