usually credited to the Polar bear..

well i'm quite big, but realise that that bear would probably 'do' me..

but if you get a huge heavyweight MMA fighter or boxer, like 6ft 11 or similar, what sort of chance would they stand against a grizzly or a lion?

am i wrong for wanting to see that fight?

There is no probably about it. It would literally eat you alive. At least Lions have the decency to kill their prey before eating it, dogs and bears don't.

Now I don't think MMA fighters are actually allowed to use their teeth. A polar bear, Grizzly bear or lion would have no such restrictions placed upon it.
Apart from that , these animals have rather large and sharp claws.

Not a predator, but Im a big fan of the deer. Was out cross country skiing at the weekend, startled some from 50 yards and they tore off across the valley and were about a mile away in 10 secs. Incredible speed and bound on them would p**s all over Usain Bolt.

i'm not saying you guys are wrong (and i probably agree with your sentiments), but i stood next to a guy who was 6'8" the other day, and honestly he was massive...

a lion on his own, without the pack thing? a few massive elbows or knees, or a choke? not impossible?

a bear i agree, probably a step too far...

a grizzly is a bit like a massively angry Edward scissor hands !!!

a tiger vs a lion,or a grisly against a polar bear,hippo vs rino.

any see the recent program on bbc1 'Africa' giraffes look a bloody handful aswell.

an elephant top trumps all of those doesn't it?

well i wouldnt stand in front of 1 thats for sure, scary enough when the missus goes off on 1.

it's interesting that as humans, most of us would lose a fight against a baboon, yet our brains have made us king of Earth.....so amazing...

It's not just the sheer size of a fully grown male lion but the speed and efficiency in which they kill. A man, even a huge supremely fit one, would not stand a chance. A hungry lion would make fodder out of him in seconds.

Don't forget that they take kicks from 600 pound zebra and buffalo, are packed with killing muscle are lethally quick.

A single swipe from a lions claw could inflict catastrophic injuries to a mans' flesh in an instant. We don't have thick hide.

If a lion was to rear up against a 6'-8" tall bloke the lion would be looking down on him.

Have you ever seen one of these things up close? They are mahoosive!

Been to places where the top predator is a bleeding mozzie.

A Masai warrior can kill a Lion but uses a spear.

In truth despite what you may feel about an MMA fighter you massively overestimate human capability without weapons.

We just are not built with the right genetic material.
Our muscles are weak even when trained in comparison to animals.
A chimpanzee can literally pull human arms off at the socket.

If you are considering whether a fighter could take on a Lion or Bear etc then you must first consider if a human could actually do what we already know a Lion can.

For example could a Human take down a full grown Water Buffalo or Wildebeast . . ? We know a Lion can.
