Hi,

Thanks for reading, when we are sat in the living room, I can sometimes hear a dripping in the ceiling where my boys’ bedroom is, obviously there’s a radiator around there but I cannot see any evidence in their room of a leak - could it be leaking below the floorboards? I’m dreading this

Leaking pipes don't make " drilling" sounds ??
Try to track down where the sound comes from .
How long does it last ,and how often is it repeated ?

Sorry, autocorrect changed it, it should say dripping, I’ll change that!! It drips maybe every 5 seconds, but can come and go, even when the heat is on constantly.

Could it be pipes rubbing against wooden flooring / joists/plasterboard when heating and contracting ? Sounds like a ticking clock ??
How long have you lived in property?
Is your boiler a combi ,or other sealed / pressurised system ?

It’s a combi boiler, I don’t know if anything is running together, haven’t the foggiest how I’d find out. I’ll try and record the sound

Your combi will have a pressure gauge ,note the pressure . If you have a leak ,pressure will drop.
How long have you lived in the property ?
