towel rail problem

[The more professional plumber or bathroom fitter will track the walls and have no pipe showing at all. Very professional.

Turning copper pipes 90 degrees above the floor to fit a chrome towel rail after a conventional radiator is removed is bodging at its best. :(
An experienced fitter will know instantly its going to look a mess and explain this

Thanks, Balenza. I guess I'll just have to put this one down to experience and fork out for it to be done again by someone else. I thought this guy would know what he was doing because he installs full bathrooms, but I'll assume nothing next time.

Do you have tiles in your bathroom behind the towel rad and perhaps a tiled floor beneath it? If so this is why your pipework has been done the way it is. I'm surprised nobody has pointed that out , maybe it's too obvious. If that is the case he should have pointed it out to you first though.

That did cross my mind-i've lost count of the times i've fitted basins where the lady of the house thought the nice chrome waste was going to disappear through the wall below the basin like it does in the nice glossy brochure even though the existing waste pipe is disappearing into the floor below or off to the side.

No tiles, Sooey. Bare wall, bare floorboards. I'm renovating the bathroom.

In that case he should at least have altered the pipework under the floor, to have two straight pipes up to the valves.

Thanks, Sooey. I appreciate your input. :D
