Hi;

Anyone know of anyway to locate water pipes under concrete?
My water supply into my house runs under a solid floor and I'd like to identify where exactly they run with a view to bringing the supply above ground.

Can a pipe detector as sold in most DIY shops do the job?

can i ask why? dig a trench outside outside your house it can be as deep as 750mm - 1350mm below ground or deeper in some situations

Call DIYITALL and he will use his devining rods to find it.

Buy him a couple of drinks and he will show you how to use them yourself.

I used devining rods to find a pipe once but I must have bought the wrong type... Mine were designed to find mud and big holes

10 minutes with a coat hanger, job done. 8)

But as I have no intentions of going anywhere near Devon in the immediate future, go to a tool hire shop and hire a C.A.T.

They use dogs to sniff out drugs in airport suitcases but i have not heard of cats being used to devine water.

I do have a cable avoidance tool though but that only works on metallic pipes and cables but not on plastic pipes.

If seriously stuck you could push a metal unblocker up the plastic pipe though.
