Hi;

I am in the process of fitting a corner unit and as it only has one door i need to fit a panel in the doorway that will be hidden by the return unit.

My corner is not 90 degrees its about 110 so the gap is more of a problem than in a square kitchen.

I have fitted the corner fillet and have cut a piece of quarter inch plywood to fill in the gap.

My question is as this is bare wood (although I think it was exterior ply) should I treat it before i fit it, I.E. Varnish or oil it? to safeguard against woodworm or mold downstream.

Ta in advance.

WBP only refers to the glueline of the plywood, the plywood itself requires treating/seling on all 4 edges and both faces if being used in external applications where exposed to potential wetting up.

If you need to TRADA data sheet let me know and I will get you a copy.

For internal use, no point in treating it at all.

1/4 ply seems a bit mickey mouse, use an offcut off the carcase or matching end panel.
