I have made my own polish using turpentine, boiled linseed oil and wax from my bees. The linseed oil bottle said 'safe for all wood except oak' but I have tried it on oak skirting boards and it has buffed to a good shine although the wood has darkened slightly.

Any thoughts on using the same polish on solid oak interior doors and a new table and chairs, please? They have been lightly oiled during manufacture but look a bit lacklustre to me.

Oak is bound to darken in time, anyway, isn't it?

All advice gratefully received. Thank you.
