I have new solid internal oak doors from Howdens, on the packing it says: "Do not use oils, waxes or dyes on this door."

My question is why is this, I've heard that sometimes this is the case with veneer but these are solid oak?
What are my options to protect the doors/ make them waterproof especially in the bathroom?

Thanks in advance.

Ring Howdens ask for number for supplier, ring supplier and ask them why they cant be oiled. Tung or Danish oil would be my preference, but check first.

i doubt they will be solid oak unless they where hundreds off pounds
they will be "solid wood" core finished with veneer
do you have a link to the doors

don't know about howdens but many stockists sell stuff from xl joinery, my doors were from them via howarth instead. I used sanding sealer after cleaning them down with fine wire wool then clear wax on top, no issues (other than wax being a pain to apply).
