I would like to plug my 9" grinder in to this dust extractor, but I am a little wary because it just exceeds the maximum wattage of 2000w can someone tell me if this will work or cause long term damage.

This is really just a hoover but I don't understand why it has a maximum 2000w capacity, can someone explain this to me please.

The machine will have a power tool take off - which avoids yet another extension cable for your grinder.
As for the maximum wattage, your grinder may well take more than the normal current under heavy load, and therefore the fuse in the Trend plug may be at the limit of its rating.
John :)

Ok thanks so if I don,t use the take off, Then it should not be a problem then.

The machine uses 1200W, and the maximum wattage through a normal plug is 3000W. The machine allows a 2000W take off because the vac starts up first, and the power take off later......therefore the fuse can handle it.
John :)
