Our hot water taps in the bathroom and kitchen are down to a trickle of hot water.Any ideas for a solution or even to the problem?

What kind of heating syetem have you got - do you have a hot water tank, or is the water heated by a combi boiler?
If its a combi, the bioler should light when you turn on a hot tap.
