Hi all. I have some solid oak window boards to fit. The window reveal is approx 10mm deeper on the left on one of the windows. What is the best way to carry out a clean straight diagonal cut on the back of the board? Would a track saw be any good?

what tools do you have , Circular saw, Plunge Saw, Jigsaw , Router , hand tools ???

I have cut a few oak planks for door thresholds and shelfs , and used a Circular Saw with a guide /mitre saw - but used a high tooth count blade, which is important for a smooth cut

Track saw is fine.

my suggestion
dont assume it's a straight taper end to end or even the board edge is straight and level
do your checking with a known straight edge
usually you cut the board to length, allowing for scribing you then push the board back untill in position and parallel at the front edge but forward say 2mm needing to go back say 12mm you then get a bit off timber /pencil body /plastic or whatever about 10 to 11mm wide then with the pencil lead in front you follow the window and scribe the back edge so with your now removed 10-11on top off the pencil line will be around 12mm

if your timber to mark the scribe is wider you just move the board forward and parallel to match what you have
