My daughter is living in Poland, and has a Beretta Kompakt heater (for water & heating from what I understand) ... It keeps shutting off, so her apartment gets very cold. Two servicemen have been out and say there is nothing wrong. She cannot read the controls, or the manual, or doesn't speak enough Polish to understand much of what they are saying. I don't know the model. Does anyone have any ideas what she may be doing wrong? It will heat for a while, then goes off and she presses a button & it works again for a while and quits. Whenever she is not home for a while, or during the night, it will stop heating.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The Beretta Kompakt is not a model that we have in the UK, but from what I can tell it is a Spanish made boiler. To try to get to the bottom of the problem we would need a little more info, does it cut out on demand for hot water, heating or both.. Do the radiators become extremely hot, any unusual noises.. You have to give us something to go on

I think that you will find that its made in Italy and Beretta is one of the Riello group.

Its not usually the UK and I dont know what I can suggest if she has to use Polish Plumbers.

I dont seem to have much problem fixing any make of boiler ( as long as its not Saunier Duval ) so if she wants to pay my air fare and provide accommodation and all creature comforts then I could go and fix it at our standard diagnostic fee of £94 for out of area calls. I do have a large appetite though and can drink a bottle of wine a day.

Otherwise she could try to find a local agent but make sure he is registered with CORGI-SKY

is the riello group anything to do with vokera? old vokeras have beretta stamped on them so it could actually be a vokera compact.

or perhaps kingfishers?

On the side of the machine was a bar code with these numbers: 222018301901817; above the barcode it says KOMP. 12/22 IP44 POL MTN...

The water heat also goes out along with the central heating portion, but when the weather was nice and she didn't need the heat, there was never a problem with the water heat going out.
Does that make sense?

Not really to me.

Its very difficult trying to guess whats wrong even when we are talking to the owner themselves but almost impossible with a third party.

The solution is to get someone competent to visit.

You could try to explain why she says there is a problem and two "servicemen" say there is none!

I am British and I have built a house in Poland. In the last few days I have completed the installation and commission of the central heating system to function with wall radiators AND Under-floor heating pipes and the hot water supply is supplemented with solar panels.

My boiler is a Beretta Kompact and it works fine for my big 3 storey house and I have installed separate thermostatic controls for each function on each level.

Your daughter needs the expert assistance of the Beretta "Serwisant" for her area. If she rings Beretta Head Office on 56 657 1600 (TORUN) and asks for the Service Department they will advise her of the name and phone number of her local authorised Service Agent. When she rings him she MUST ask for his basic fee cost for visit and diagnosis (something between 85 and 100 zlotys). He wiil then visit, diagnose the fault(if any exists at all) and advise cost of repair for parts and labour.

My amateur guess is that it only needs the parameters setting correctly which she wiil find in the manual which she should have.

Hope this helps a little. Good Luck.

What a wonderfully helpful reply!

I expect that she is unable to set the parameters because she only has the information in polish which she cannot read. Its possible she may be able to obtain a copy in English or Italian.

Clearly I need to remember that I might be a "Serwisant" when I fix boilers for the Polish!

Hi Traveller, I am also british and living in Poland and about to install a complete system like yourself. Would like to have some expert advise from you about the system you installed and if everything went well and is working ok.

Steve 4 - suitably refreshed from my Caribbean holiday I would be glad to help you in any way I can. How can we beast do that ?

Traveller.

Can she post a picture of the front control panel.

I suspect the ignition pcb mightbe defective. Will be able to give you part number that might fix the fault once I look at the front panel.

Damn its like the program wife(plumber) swap...

Hi all,
On my Beretta Kompakt there is some times the error code "10" and the heater stops to work until I make a reset.
there was already a technican and he changed something but the error is still present.
I'm very sure that there is nothing wrong with the hardware (because it is quite new) but there must be a problem with the configuration.
Because I'm living in italy and my italien is terrible (I'm from germany), I dont understand what the technican guy is doing. (May be the guy also does not understand what he is duing...)
I have the manual for the heater (only in italy language) but I don't know how to upload the file to this forum?
Did your doughter see any error code in the display (blinking number)?
