Hello all,

Is it usual on a plastering trowel as it gets more worn in, that the top edge becomes a bit curved?

I'm finding now that the top edge is no longer completely flat and noticeable when smoothing in narrow areas (such as around door frames) where you can't get the trowel horizontal.

I'm wondering if I've been a bit heavy handed when polishing using the trowel sides and damaged my trowel

Entirely normal - the shape it wears will be the angle it is held at when you use that edge most.

That edge will be flat against the surface for some degree at which you hold the trowel
