Hello everyone

Can anyone suggest the correct trowel size for a 60 x 60 ceramic floor tile? I had thought a 10mm u notched trowel would be suitable but would appreciate some guidance from you.

Cheers in advance

Depends on the tile and the substrate.

Ultimately you check and use whatever gives the correct coverage.

OP,
Your 10mm u-notch trowel should be fine - are you intending to use tile levelling spacers?

For a 60 x 60 ceramic floor tile, a 10mm U-notched trowel would be suitable. The U-notched trowel is commonly used for larger format tiles like the one you mentioned. It provides adequate coverage of adhesive beneath the tile and helps ensure a strong bond between the tile and the floor.

The size of the notches in the trowel determines the amount of adhesive applied. The 10mm U-notched trowel will leave a consistent 10mm-wide and 10mm-deep groove or notch in the adhesive when it is applied. This size is generally recommended for tiles in the size range you mentioned.
