If he pulls out, Europe will have to do a deal with Irann over passage through Hormuzz. Which means paying them for passage. We could end up funding the reconstruction of Irann every time we fill up at the pumps.

Why? Very little European shipping doesn't go through the straights. Asia is the area most effected. We're suffering mostly because closing the straights affects global supply rather than ours directly.

And at this point I think it's nearly certain that Trump has now established the Straights as an Iranian route and that there will be a toll. If they're really clever they'll offer to change it's English name to the Trump freedom straights and cut him in on the action. Trump would roll over.

Europe recieves 3% from Hormuz straights, thats the reason no alternative route to the Med was ever seriously planned despite the issues with Iran over the past 40 years, let the affected Countries ie China/India etc sort it out, no need for us to get involved(pay for it).
