Trump v Zelenskyy

US President’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz claims that yesterday’s dispute between Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was not premeditated. According to him, a deal on rare earth minerals was waiting in the next room, which the parties were supposed to sign after the meeting, according to Waltz’s interview on Fox News.

"And let me just talk something very quickly: that this was some kind of ambush. That is absolutely and categorically false. We had a beautiful setting in the East Room, ready for both leaders to sign, that would have bound the United States and Ukraine together economically for a generation, for critical minerals that we need, economic investment that they need," said the US National Security Advisor.

He added that this would have occurred after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron expressed their readiness to send troops, and Trump, along with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, “had just” discussed broader security guarantees.

"So this really could have been and should have been a positive moment for Ukraine, and then we go to further negotiating with the Russians, bring this war to an end, and move the world forward and stop the death and destruction. But instead, what became clear, and I think what has the President (Donald Trump -ed.) so frustrated and frankly angry is that it's not clear that Zelenskyy truly wants to stop the fighting," Waltz said.

According to him, although Zelenskyy had been warned, he came in and was determined to “discuss everything in front of the entire world,” after which Vance and Trump said, “Enough.” Waltz added that the Ukrainian president’s approach was wrong.

"And I got to tell you, this was the wrong approach, wrong time in history, and definitely the wrong President to try to do this kind of thing. This is not Joe Biden, this was Donald J. Trump. And I think the entire world saw that crystal clear," the US National Security Advisor concluded.

As a reminder, after the confrontation between the heads of state, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that he advised Volodymyr Zelenskyy to find a way to restore relations with Donald Trump.

That Kremlin-linked entities invested significantly in Trump’s properties over the years is not inherently nefarious. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, wealthy Russians have invested heavily in real estate in the West, while Americans were in turn encouraged to invest in Russia. However, in the context of a president under several investigations for his connections to the Kremlin, Russia’s outsize role in Trump’s reemergence from financial tribulations that nearly destroyed his real estate empire merit additional attention. What emerges is the story of a man indebted to Russia through the oligarchs that President Vladimir Putin helped create and now controls.

So you believe that those who called for the racists riots should not have been jailed?

And do you that calling for said racist riots to take place is not an abuse of free speech?
There has been people sentenced that never called for riots or violence .

There has been people sentenced that never called for riots or violence .

Do you have some examples? I would be interested to see what they have been sentenced for. I've only seen a few of the well known cases and AFAIK they all involved calls for violence. I've tried Googling but haven't found anything useful yet.

That’s a very silly lie you’ve made there. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

So Zelensky has more power than Trump in the Oval Office….and could dictate events

MAGAs are so fick they can’t even lie well

Zelensky dresses in combat style outfits in solidarity with his people that are fighting.

Trump and Vance tried to make fun of him over it because they understand the maturity level of their supporters…..and you prove they’ve got it right.

Why are you immature? Do you think it is a result of your upbringing?
What his soldiers wear all black uniforms do you think they are Ninja`s ?

Tusk sums it up quite well.

The prime minister stated that they must overcome this dilemma and added that Poland has excellent relations with the U.S. and will continue to strengthen them.

Tusk emphasized that Europe has woken up in light of recent events over the past weeks. He noted that at the summit, he will call for an increase in the presence of European troops on the EU’s eastern flank, including in Finland, the Baltic states, and Poland.

"It’s a paradox, someone rightly pointed this out, that 500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them from 140 millions Russians," Tusk said.

I have said similar myself.

It is just about managing the transition for me, whilst Europe ramps things up. The only real problem is Germany. There are complex issues there which I don't fully understand. But if that can be fixed, then a coalition of UK, France, Germany, Poland and the Scandis, spending 2.5% GDP on defence, would easily beat Russia in a conventional war.

The USA has enjoyed being the only real military power and for almost a century it has brought them unprecedented influence around the world. But it is obviously their choice if they want to become more isolationist.
